Andrea Pedrazzini, born in Bellinzona in 1992, is an organist, pianist, conductor and music educator. His work brings together an active concert career, choral and orchestral conducting, a strong interest in the organ repertoire and music education.
After studying piano at the Conservatories of Milan and Brescia, where he graduated at the age of 19 under the guidance of Leonardo Leonardi, he pursued his organ studies at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano with Stefano Molardi, earning a Master’s degree in Organ Performance in 2019. He subsequently continued his conducting studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) with Markus Utz and Daniel Schmid. He has also attended courses and masterclasses with musicians including Michael Radulescu, Luisa Castellani and Luca Scandali. He continues his training as a musician and choir director following specialization courses and masterclasses with various teachers, including Michael Radulescu, Luisa Castellani, Davide Fior, Diego Castellani and Luca Scandali.
As an organist, he regularly performs in Switzerland and abroad, appearing at festivals and major concert venues in France, Germany, Italy, Romania and Luxembourg. His engagements have included Saint-Sulpice in Paris, the Abbatiale Saint-Ouen in Rouen, the cathedrals of Speyer and Ulm, Freiberg Cathedral and Bucharest Cathedral. Improvisation is a particular focus of his work and frequently forms an integral part of his organ programmes. In 2026 he has performed in Bern, Rouen, Freiberg, Basel and Kevelaer, and appeared at the Bruckner Festspiele in Berlin in September.
A major focus of his recent artistic activity is Anton Bruckner and Eberhard Klotz’s organ transcriptions of his symphonies. After presenting this repertoire as part of the international celebrations marking the bicentenary of Bruckner’s birth in 2024, he launched a recording project in 2025 dedicated to the complete cycle of Klotz’s transcriptions. The First Symphony was recorded at Speyer Cathedral in 2025, while the Seventh was recorded in early 2026 at the Marienbasilika in Kevelaer.
In 2022, he founded Luceat in Locarno, a choral and orchestral ensemble bringing together professional and amateur musicians from different generations and musical backgrounds. As its artistic and musical director, Pedrazzini develops concert projects focusing particularly on choral and symphonic repertoire, creating opportunities for musicians with different experiences and backgrounds to work together. In 2026, Luceat collaborated with the Choir of the University and the Jeunesses Musicales of Fribourg for a performance of Bruckner’s Mass No. 3 in F minor, bringing together more than 120 singers.
Alongside his live performance activities, Pedrazzini is also active in recording projects covering French symphonic and German Romantic repertoire. In 2023, he recorded works by César Franck, Charles-Marie Widor and Maurice Duruflé on the French symphonic-style organ in Brione s. Minusio, as well as works by Max Reger on historical instruments of the German Romantic tradition. Some of these recordings were subsequently broadcast by Swiss Radio and Television (RSI).
He is also Artistic Director of the Association of the Friends of the Organ of the Locarnese, now operating under the name Locarno Organ Festival, and is involved in the artistic programming of the festival.
Alongside his artistic career, he teaches music at Liceo cantonale di Lugano 2, where he is responsible for the school choir and orchestra. He is a member of the Foundation Board of the Vivaldi Academy of Locarno and of the committee of the Ticino Association of Organists, and also holds a Swiss Federal Diploma in Accounting.

Dopo gli studi di pianoforte presso i Conservatori di Milano e Brescia, dove si diploma a 19 anni sotto la guida di Leonardo Leonardi, approfondisce lo studio dell’organo al Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana di Lugano con Stefano Molardi, conseguendo nel 2019 il Master in Performance in Organo. Prosegue inoltre la propria formazione nella direzione presso la Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) con Markus Utz e Daniel Schmid. Ha seguito corsi e masterclass con musicisti quali Michael Radulescu, Luisa Castellani e Luca Scandali.
Come organista si esibisce regolarmente in Svizzera e all’estero, in festival e importanti sedi concertistiche in Francia, Germania, Italia, Romania e Lussemburgo. Tra le sedi in cui si è esibito figurano la chiesa di Saint-Sulpice a Parigi, l’Abbatiale Saint-Ouen di Rouen, le cattedrali di Speyer e Ulm, il Duomo di Freiberg e la Cattedrale di Bucarest. Particolare attenzione è dedicata all’improvvisazione, spesso parte integrante dei suoi programmi organistici. Nel 2026 è stato protagonista di concerti a Berna, Rouen, Freiberg, Basilea e Kevelaer; nel settembre 2026 è apparso al Bruckner Festspiele di Berlino.
Una parte importante della sua attività recente è dedicata ad Anton Bruckner e alle trascrizioni per organo delle sue sinfonie realizzate da Eberhard Klotz. Dopo aver presentato questo repertorio in occasione delle celebrazioni internazionali per il bicentenario della nascita di Bruckner nel 2024, nel 2025 ha avviato un progetto discografico dedicato all’intero ciclo delle trascrizioni di Klotz. La Prima Sinfonia è stata registrata nel Duomo di Speyer nel 2025, mentre la Settima è stata registrata all’inizio del 2026 nella Marienbasilika di Kevelaer.
Nel 2022 fonda a Locarno Luceat, formazione corale e orchestrale che riunisce musicisti professionisti e amatori di diverse generazioni e provenienze musicali. Come direttore artistico e musicale, Pedrazzini sviluppa con Luceat progetti concertistici dedicati soprattutto al repertorio corale e sinfonico, creando occasioni di incontro tra esperienze e percorsi musicali differenti. Nel 2026 Luceat ha collaborato con il Coro dell’Università e delle Jeunesses Musicales di Friburgo per l’esecuzione della Messa n. 3 in Fa minore di Bruckner unendo oltre 120 coristi.
Accanto alla musica dal vivo, Pedrazzini sviluppa un’attività discografica che comprende repertorio francese e tedesco-romantico. Nel 2023 ha registrato opere di César Franck, Charles-Marie Widor e Maurice Duruflé sull’organo in stile sinfonico francese di Brione s. Minusio e ha realizzato registrazioni dedicate a Max Reger su strumenti storici della scuola romantica tedesca, alcune delle quali sono state successivamente trasmesse dalla Radiotelevisione svizzera (RSI).
È inoltre direttore artistico dell’Associazione degli Amici dell’Organo del Locarnese, oggi attiva sotto il nome Locarno Organ Festival, e partecipa alla programmazione artistica della rassegna.
Parallelamente all’attività artistica, insegna musica al Liceo cantonale di Lugano 2, dove è responsabile del coro e dell’orchestra. È membro del Consiglio di Fondazione dell’Accademia Vivaldi di Locarno e del comitato dell’Associazione Ticinese degli Organisti oltre ad essere contabile federale diplomato.

Nach seinem Klavierstudium an den Konservatorien von Mailand und Brescia, das er bereits im Alter von 19 Jahren unter der Leitung von Leonardo Leonardi abschloss, vertiefte er seine Ausbildung im Orgelspiel am Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano bei Stefano Molardi. 2019 erwarb er dort den Master in Orgelperformance. Anschliessend setzte er seine Dirigierausbildung an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) bei Markus Utz und Daniel Schmid fort.
Darüber hinaus besuchte er Kurse und Meisterklassen bei Musikern wie Michael Radulescu, Luisa Castellani und Luca Scandali.
Als Organist konzertiert Pedrazzini regelmässig in der Schweiz und im Ausland und tritt bei Festivals sowie an bedeutenden Konzertorten in Frankreich, Deutschland, Italien, Rumänien und Luxemburg auf. Zu seinen bisherigen Konzertorten zählen die Kirche Saint-Sulpice in Paris, die Abbatiale Saint-Ouen in Rouen, die Dome von Speyer und Ulm, der Freiberger Dom und die Kathedrale von Bukarest. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt bildet die Improvisation, die häufig integraler Bestandteil seiner Orgelprogramme ist.
Im Jahr 2026 konzertierte er unter anderem in Bern, Rouen, Freiberg, Basel und Kevelaer; im September wurde er zu den Bruckner Festspielen in Berlin eingeladen.
Ein wichtiger Schwerpunkt seiner jüngeren künstlerischen Tätigkeit liegt bei Anton Bruckner und den Orgeltranskriptionen seiner Sinfonien durch Eberhard Klotz. Nachdem er dieses Repertoire anlässlich der internationalen Feierlichkeiten zum 200. Geburtstag Bruckners im Jahr 2024 vorgestellt hatte, begann er 2025 ein Aufnahmeprojekt mit dem Ziel, den vollständigen Zyklus der Klotz-Transkriptionen einzuspielen.
Die Sinfonie Nr. 1 wurde 2025 im Dom zu Speyer aufgenommen, die Sinfonie Nr. 7 Anfang 2026 in der Marienbasilika in Kevelaer.
2022 gründete Pedrazzini in Locarno Luceat, ein Chor- und Orchesterensemble, das professionelle Musikerinnen und Musiker sowie Amateure verschiedener Generationen und musikalischer Herkunft zusammenbringt. Als künstlerischer und musikalischer Leiter entwickelt er mit Luceat Konzertprojekte, die insbesondere dem Chor- und Sinfonierrepertoire gewidmet sind und den Austausch zwischen unterschiedlichen musikalischen Erfahrungen und Werdegängen fördern.
2026 arbeitete Luceat mit dem Chor der Universität und den Jeunesses Musicales de Fribourg zusammen und führte Bruckners Messe Nr. 3 in f-Moll mit mehr als 120 Sängerinnen und Sängern auf.
Neben seiner Konzerttätigkeit widmet sich Pedrazzini auch verschiedenen Aufnahmeprojekten mit französischem und deutsch-romantischem Repertoire. 2023 nahm er Werke von César Franck, Charles-Marie Widor und Maurice Duruflé an der französisch-symphonischen Orgel in Brione sopra Minusio auf sowie Werke von Max Reger an historischen Instrumenten der deutsch-romantischen Orgeltradition. Einige dieser Aufnahmen wurden anschliessend von der Schweizerischen Radio- und Fernsehgesellschaft (RSI) ausgestrahlt.
Pedrazzini ist zudem künstlerischer Leiter des Vereins der Orgelfreunde des Locarnese, der heute unter dem Namen Locarno Organ Festival tätig ist, und an der künstlerischen Programmgestaltung des Festivals beteiligt.
Parallel zu seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit unterrichtet er Musik am Liceo cantonale di Lugano 2, wo er für Chor und Orchester verantwortlich ist. Er ist Mitglied des Stiftungsrates der Vivaldi-Akademie Locarno sowie des Vorstands der Associazione Ticinese degli Organisti und verfügt über ein eidgenössisches Diplom als Buchhalter.
